Children's Barn Ratzeburg
The children's barn is our newest building. It opened on April 1, 2024.
Two old barns were converted into modern facilities for two family groups. The administration of Montessori Nord gGmbH is also located in the adjacent detached house.
The children's barn is located in a quiet residential area of single-family homes dating from the 1950s, close to a nature reserve. The road leading there is traffic-calmed. A horse farm along the way offers plenty of interesting activities for children.
In family groups, children aged 1-6 years are cared for. This is charming and has many advantages for children, parents, and staff.
The children can learn intensively from each other every day. The little ones learn from the older ones, for example, how to get into their muddy pants without getting frustrated. The older children learn consideration, how to offer help, and how to practice patience. The parents benefit from this, too.
In the barn, we can accept children year-round if spaces are available. A group consists of a calculated size of 20 children. Each child under 2.5 years old is counted twice. When a toddler turns 2.5, a new child can be admitted to the regular group. If there are two toddlers in the group, one new toddler can be admitted.
Our childcare hours are Monday to Friday from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm.
The children's barn is closed for six weeks each year. Please see the link below for the closing dates for each year.
