Our goals

Children want to know what holds the world together at its core. Our task is to reduce these fundamental concepts to their essence and make them tangible for the children. The goal of our education is for children to live fulfilling and happy lives in peace with themselves and others, and to demonstrate responsibility for the world within their own capabilities. We want to lay the foundation for the children's motor, emotional, practical, creative, and socio-intellectual skills, thereby fostering the development of their whole personalities. We achieve this through independent work, a prepared environment, themed projects, quiet reflection exercises, group discussions, excursions, and, most importantly, free play and role-playing.

Our task

Our educational mandate is defined by the Schleswig-Holstein Child Daycare Act (KiTaG). This law serves as a guideline for our pedagogical work. Key points include:

  • Strengthening the personality
  • Introduction to socially responsible action
  • Imparting knowledge and skills that allow for independent living within the scope of the respective possibilities.
  • Promoting the ability to experience, creativity and imagination
  • Cultivating the natural thirst for knowledge and the joy of learning
  • Integration and equality are lived

Our image of the child

The child is at the heart of our work. We focus directly on the child and consistently consider their needs. Each child is seen and valued holistically. Our goal is to create a child-friendly, prepared environment to encourage independent activity. The freedom to choose activities allows them to follow their sensitive periods. Every child learns according to their own inner blueprint, possesses unique abilities, and receives appropriate support and encouragement. In this way, they can explore their interests, needs, and strengths, and find their own rhythm and pace.

Daily life in the regular group

Early in the morning, the teacher welcomes the children to the group room. After the parents say goodbye, the children can begin their free choice of activities. Free work is a fundamental component of Montessori pedagogy. During this time, the children have the opportunity to choose a Montessori learning material and work with it independently. Breakfast is also served during this time. The breakfast table has already been lovingly set by the teacher. After tidying up together, a circle time concludes the first part of the day. Here, songs are sung, poems are learned, stories are told, and concerns are shared. Afterwards, the children go to the forest, the garden, or the surrounding area. Thanks to appropriate clothing, this is possible in all weather conditions. In a second circle time, the morning's experiences are discussed. Then it's time for lunch, which has been set for everyone. Children who need to sleep have the option of a midday rest. After an afternoon snack, the children can end their day at the children's center either by playing in the outdoor area or by doing free work in the group room.

Daily life in the crèche

The toddlers are warmly greeted each morning by a qualified early childhood educator. After parents say goodbye, there is time for the children to settle in. We kindly ask that children arrive no later than 9:00 a.m. so that the group can begin the day together. The group sings songs and plays movement games. Then, preparations for breakfast begin, and every child is welcome to help. At breakfast, each child has the freedom to choose what they would like to eat. The educators are on hand to assist. After breakfast and a quick trip to the toilet or diaper change, the child can play, do crafts, or draw, either alone or with other children. Afterwards, it's time to go outside. We visit the nearby forest, take short and long walks, or use the on-site playground. After lunch, the children enjoy a nap. In the afternoon, they have a nutritious and vitamin-rich snack. The day concludes peacefully with outdoor play or in the group room, story time, singing, and finger games.
